Aalyah Gutierrez is the daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio and the younger sister of WWE star Dominik Mysterio. She first became familiar to wrestling fans through appearances with her family on WWE television.
In 2026, interest in Aalyah has grown for another reason. She has started training seriously at the WWE Performance Center, creating the possibility that another member of the Mysterio family could eventually compete inside a WWE ring.

Aalyah is mainly known for:
- Being Rey Mysterio’s daughter
- Being Dominik Mysterio’s younger sister

Aalyah Gutierrez Family and Rey Mysterio
Aalyah comes from one of professional wrestling’s best-known families. Her father, Rey Mysterio, became famous for his fast wrestling style, lucha libre background and signature 619 move.
Her mother is Angie Gutierrez, who has also made occasional WWE appearances with the family.
Aalyah’s older brother, Dominik Mysterio, took a different route. He appeared on WWE television when he was young and later trained to become a professional wrestler. Dominik made his WWE in-ring debut in 2020.
Is Aalyah Gutierrez Dominik Mysterio’s Sister?
Yes. Aalyah Gutierrez is Dominik Mysterio’s younger sister.
Although both grew up around wrestling, their paths have been different. Dominik became a wrestler first, while Aalyah focused on life outside the ring before eventually becoming interested in professional training herself.
Aalyah Gutierrez Education and Life Before Wrestling
Aalyah did not move directly into professional wrestling after finishing school. Public reports indicate that she continued her education before deciding whether wrestling was a career she wanted to pursue.
This is important because her current WWE journey did not begin simply because she is Rey Mysterio’s daughter. Rey has explained publicly that Aalyah needed to decide for herself whether she had the motivation to commit to the demanding training required for professional wrestling.
Her experience at the WWE Performance Center appears to have strengthened that interest.
Aalyah Gutierrez WWE Appearances and Storyline
Aalyah’s most memorable WWE period came during 2020, when the Mysterio family was involved in a long storyline with Seth Rollins.
She regularly appeared alongside Rey, Dominik and Angie. The story later focused on Aalyah’s connection with Murphy, who was then working with Rollins.
An official WWE Raw report documented a September 2020 segment in which Rollins revealed messages between Aalyah and Murphy. Their connection later became an important part of the television storyline.
Was Aalyah Gutierrez Already a WWE Wrestler?
No. Her 2020 appearances should not be confused with an established wrestling career.
Aalyah appeared as an on-screen character within her family’s storyline. She was not presented as a trained wrestler competing regularly in matches.
That distinction makes her move into formal wrestling training in 2026 especially significant.
Is Aalyah Gutierrez Joining WWE?
Aalyah Gutierrez has taken a major step toward a possible WWE career by beginning training at the company’s Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.
Rey Mysterio said earlier in 2026 that Aalyah had tested wrestling training and enjoyed the experience. By September, reports said she had been training at the Performance Center for more than a month.
Rey also explained that she was still learning the basics of the industry. Unlike Dominik, who spent large amounts of time backstage around wrestlers while growing up, Aalyah had less direct exposure to the technical side of wrestling.
Reports have also indicated that she has appeared on WWE internal roster information. However, details about her future television character, ring name and official televised debut remain unclear.
Could Aalyah Gutierrez Join NXT?
NXT would be a logical possible route, because WWE uses its developmental system to prepare newer performers for television and main-roster competition.
However, WWE had not publicly announced a specific NXT debut date for Aalyah as of September 2026. It is therefore too early to say when, or under what name, she may appear in a televised wrestling match.
Aalyah Gutierrez Boyfriend and Personal Life
Searches for Aalyah Gutierrez boyfriend became common partly because older online biographies connected her with Joshua Thomas.
Those reports should not automatically be treated as confirmation of her current relationship status. Aalyah has not made every part of her private life public, and reliable current information about a boyfriend, husband or marriage is limited.
The Murphy relationship shown on WWE television in 2020 was part of a professional wrestling storyline. It should not be confused with confirmed details about her private romantic life.
